"We are dealing with a long-term threat. It is not going to go away in the next few weeks or months," said Gordon Brown, the new British Prime Minister.
If so, then it makes one wonder, why now and who is at the center of the attacks?
Police have linked the Mercedes car bomb threat at the London nightclub district, the attack upon the Glasgow Airport terminal and another car near a hospital in Glasgow with a device as related and associated with the al Qaeda.
But, why the British and not the US?
Perhaps because Great Britain is an easier target with a greater foreign population willing to carry out these attacks. The collateral impact would be upon the United States who see no end game in sight for the Iraq war. The hope would be to move all foreign presence on Middle East and Asian soil, end the war and spew the hatred all in one lump.
However, one effect would be to strengthen the resolve to eliminate the al Qaeda and to reduce immigration in Great Britain, Europe and certainly in America of individuals who could be identified with radical Muslim terror.
