Thanks to Internet chatter espousing or threatening terror attacks, US cites and the nation in general will just have to be move vigilant for radioactive, chemical, biological threats as what occurred this week in cities such as New York.
Because of Internet chatter, the al-Qaida were expected to possibly use trucks loaded with radioactive material or "dirty bombs" to attack New York. Other cites mentioned were Los Angeles, Miami and Washington DC.
City authorities utilized extra counterterrorism measures during the weekend to ensure the threats were mere threats and not terror realities.
The head of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff has stated that attacks on the US mainland were possible.
The claims of the terror attacks have not been independently verified.
However, the report about the purported radiological attacks was published on the Israeli Web site DEBKAfile due to electronic chatter on al Qaeda sites.
