Alario names two Democrats to chair major Louisiana Senate money committees

alarioThe Louisiana Senate committee slate is complete as the state attempts to climb out of a $2.6B budget hole.  Today, Senate President John Alario announced the  committee assignments and appointments for the beginning of the 2016-2020 Louisiana Senate. 

Alario, a former Democrat, turned Republican has named Democrats to head two of the major money committees, Eric Lafleur, heading Senate Finance Committee and J.P. Morrell as Chair of Revenue and Fiscal Affairs.

Jon Bel Edwards, also a Democrat, has replaced Republican Bobby Jindal, as Governor of Louisiana.
