Big surprise! Donald Trump is under investigation, reportedly, for criminal obstruction of justice. The President has fired a bunch of people and is still doing cartwheels to avoid his Russia problem. Trump’s efforts, however dogged, are in vain because Special Counsel Robert Mueller has put the President in a position where Trump just might consider placing an ad in the help wanted pages.
As if things couldn’t get any worse for President Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin has offered to send Congress transcripts of the Oval Office meeting between Trump, almost famous Russian Ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, and Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov. Putin says they’ll prove that Trump didn’t divulge state secrets to the Russians. Maybe they’ll be written in invisible ink, too.
Donald Trump, finally, did something really presidential, and he did it using war powers. It wasn’t tweeting that Bill O’Reilly did nothing wrong to justify the massive walkout of the TV commentator’s Fox sponsors. It wasn’t any other of the, by now, dozens of hair-brained tweeted assertions that reveal the nonsense that occupies Trump’s thinking, mostly at night. It wasn’t a batch of executive orders, or appointments, that aided the better off. This time it meant something to everyone in the world.
With the successful missile strike against a Syrian air base last night, President Donald Trump has accomplished many important goals. He has sent a well-defined signal that the use of chemical weapons will not be tolerated. In vigorously responding to atrocities committed by Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, the President has distinguished himself from the weak policies pursued by the Obama administration.
Now that Vladimir Putin has a man he likes headed to 1600 Penn Ave., expect the Russian to muck with him, just like they did Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump just got an early taste of the way this game is played when U.S. intelligence agencies felt compelled to include a pejorative two-page addendum to a classified report on Russian 2016 Democratic hacks. It’s a shocking document according to all accounts.
In a little more than a month, Donald Trump, the candidate and now, the Donald Trump, the president-elect, will become Donald Trump, the President of the United States, the leader of the free world and frankly, the most important and the most powerful person on earth.
According to Russian news media, "US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have held their first telephone call, in which the two leaders discussed Syria and agreed to improve and develop bilateral ties, the Kremlin said in a statement."

“I am truly, deeply concerned!”
Before the situation becomes even more toxic, it would be wise for Americans to appreciate Russian concerns and understand their historical perspective. Something this White House seems incapable of doing.

A very tragic event occurred this past week when a Malaysian commercial airliner was mistakenly shot down by a military rocket. A lot of questions about this event remain, and entirely too much propaganda is being disseminated. It appears there is an effort to craft this tragic event for political advantage.

As Ukraine spins out of control, the time has come for intelligent, dispassionate leaders to step forward and stop the madness. Otherwise, this situation will gain a momentum all of its own the results of which no one wants.
