Louisiana Jindal Says Judge Barbier's BP Claim Ruling Is Good Sign
Written by

Today, Governor Bobby Jindal issued a statement on the ruling yesterday by a Judge Carl Barbier federal court in regards to the oil spill claims process:

“Yesterday’s ruling by Judge Barbier in response to the motion that we joined is a good sign for Louisianians. Indeed, the court rightfully used its authority to protect claimants from misinformation by requiring some common-sense disclosure of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility to ensure visibility as they interact with our people and promote fairness in the process.  While we continue to have concerns about the claims process and are pushing for further judicial oversight, this ruling is a step forward for the thousands of Louisianians still fighting to recover from the oil spill.”

Barbier said "A full disclosure of the relationship between Mr. Feinberg, the GCCF, and BP will at least make transparent that it is BP's interests" Feinberg is representing, Barbier wrote.
