Kevin Mawae, Drew Brees In NFL Mediation As Lockout Looms
Written by

Wednesday's mediated session between the NFL and the NFLPA has brought out the big guns, at least on the players' side.

For the first time in the negations, NFLPA Kevin Mawae and New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees will be attendance.

Eleven members of the NFLPA executive committee and both retired members have now attended negotiations over the last two weeks. There has been only one owner at the session until Wednesday.

The NFL owners are in town because their labor committee broke bread on Tuesday night. The owners continued to meet in the evening after the owners' meeting. If there are no sessions on Wednesday night, it's time to make you lockout plans for 11:01 on March 4.

It must be nice when you can get the rules written just for you.

There must come a time when even the most disinterested, blasé, apolitical person living has to look up from whatever else occupies his interest and say, “Wait a damned minute. This just ain’t right and we’re not gonna do it.”
