New Orleans Saints Brees Tweets Apology For NFL Lockout
Written by  // Friday, 11 March 2011 12:45 //

Saints quarterback Drew Brees put out a message on Twitter on Friday, apologizing in advance of the approaching lockout.

"I am very sorry that you as fans have to endure this," wrote Brees. "Football is more than just a game for all of us. We will keep fighting...always."

Brees is actively involved in the negotiations, and Friday may be the last day arguments between the owners and the players.
"To our fans -- I give you my word that we as players are doing everything we can to negotiate with the NFL toward a fair deal,"  wrote the quarterback.

"The NFL brought this fight to us -- they want $1 billion back, we just want financial information to back up that request. They refuse to give that information to us. They think we should just trust them. Would you? We have a responsibility to our players -- past, present and future, to advance the league forward, not take three steps back."
