NFL Lockout: Draft boycott, evil owners, anti-trust lawsuit, Patrick Peterson
Written by

The question of whether there will be a 2011 NFL season might hit home earlier than expected.  Now, the issue is whether the NFL will have a draft.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the NFLPA has told NFL draft prospects that they should boycott the NFL draft held annually New York City.”

Well, we shall see.

Bill Plaschke, latimes.com: "In terms of perceptions, the current NFL labor dispute is the most one-sided fight since good first climbed into the ring with evil. Cheering for the owners is like cheering for the IRS, cable companies and Charlie Sheen. Cheering for the owners is like watching a televised police pursuit and cheering for the guy in the Escalade.

"In entertaining more people in this country than any other sporting league, the NFL robs its players of their bodies and sometimes even their minds, and now the owners want to rob them of some of their money?"

Gary Roberts, former Tulane law professor who is now dean of the Indiana University School of Law, told the Associated Press: "There will be no negotiating for a while (NFL labor dispute). Both sides will wait to see how the legal maneuvering plays out. Where we are after all the mediated negotiations is the players reached a point where they figure they can get a better deal if they if they file an antitrust lawsuit than continue to bargain at the table.

"The league would have preferred to be in collective bargaining and lock the players out because they feel it's the best way to maximize their leverage. Ultimately come August and September, they feel they have more leverage to get a better deal.: August? September? Not very encouraging...

Former LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson is not scheduled to run on Tuesday at LSU's Pro Day and will stand on his Combine time. Monday evening he will meet with the Panthers brass and the Broncos' front office is following him around. His weight is 219 pounds...

wag edwards tweetIn the age of rapid response, social media, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry took to twitter to apparently poke the Democrat Governor and to promote his own tour of his own legislative package, or legislative outlook tour, beginning today.

Today, Stephen Waguespack of LABI tweeted in response to The Advocate’s Tyler Bridges article that John Bel Edwards would be delaying his release of his tax overhaul package that was scheduled for today.

quin hillyer health 5Have the conservative Freedom Caucus and advocacy organizations such as Freedom Works and Heritage Action "screwed the American people"?

That's the feeling expressed by at least one long-time conservative Republican, who, as millions of others were outraged by the destruction of the Obamacare "repeal" and replacement, on Friday.

comey sitThe GOP will likely claim that the bogus “ Assisted suicide counseling” will still be covered since Obamacare remains the law of the land. That’s good news for GOP legislators who planned on voting “yes” on its repeal. The rich, also, should be happy the old law remains because they have wounds that need tending after the mega tax breaks for them that were inserted in Trumpcare went the way of leeching. The failure to repeal, of course, is the Democrats fault. Trump said so, but he has reason to be happy, too. The health care debacle managed, if just for an hour, or two, to deflect attention away from Russia.
