Video: Jindal’s Speech to Louisiana Legislature On Redistricting
Written by  // Monday, 21 March 2011 13:47 //

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal on Sunday opened the special legislative session focusing upon redistricting and urged the legislature to put the Louisiana people before party.  He spoke briefly about bipartisanship and Louisiana and compared the state to the type of rancor existing in Washington which he said puts party first instead of “America first”.

Jindal said, ““Some describe this process as the elected leaders selecting their voters,” the governor said. “In reality, the purpose of this session is more important than that.”

Jindal said there would be many opportunities for disagreement but the goal would be keep the process as open as possible with the focus upon the democratic principle of one person, one vote.
