Written by  // Saturday, 16 July 2011 18:48 //

Reports are that the owners and players are close to a deal and that the two sides won't meet again.

Albert Breer of NFL.com reports that the remaining details of the CBA are expected to be worked out via email, phone, Twitter, videoconference, Skype and Instant Message.

Communications may continue on Sunday between lawyers, but it won't be face-to-face meetings. DeMaurice Smith and Roger Goodell are also said to be communication.

The slowing pace of things is a sign that both sides are comfortable with where things stand. The two sides will meet with mediator Arthur Boylan on Monday evening and Tuesday, Those meetings will take place in Minneapolis rather than New York

It will be a surprise if an agreement isn't reached early in the week.
