VP Biden Was White About Tea Party Being Terrorists With Debt Ceiling
Written by

Tea PartyThat's VP Biden's reaction to the tea baggers. And he's right.

The horrible, no-good, terrible, waste of time that was the debt ceiling fight produced a horrible, no-good, terrible bill cutting spending at a time when the economy is still struggling.

But this is all about destroying Obama's presidency, so we digress. What else can you expect?

How did Louisiana's Congressional Delegation vote?

  • Scalise (R-Metairie): N
  • Fleming (R-Minden): N
  • Landry (R-New Iberia): N
  • Alexander (R-Quitman): Y
  • Cassidy (R-Baton Rouge): Y
  • Boustany (R-Lafayette): Y
  • Richmond (D-New Orleans): Y

This entire episode is a grand embarassment to this country. We have terrible debt problems, and we've continuously operated with budget deficits throughout the last 10 years. Why?

"Reagan proved deficits don't matter" - Vice President Dick Cheney

Remind me what the debt was in 2009, the year Barack Obama took office?

Total public treasury debt: 10,613,904,888,048.13

Yes, now it's about $14 trillion. But let us stop you for a moment. Wasn't $10 trillion in debt a lot? And in the midst of the worst economy since the great depression, with automatic expenditures rising (like, uh, unemployment insurance and medicaid expenditures) and revenues falling dramatically, how was the President supposed to stop this without letting the economy collapse. Without stimulus, we'd be even worse shape than we are today (imagine that).

So this entire fight was brought about to help destroy the President. As usual. And he's letting them do it. Because Barack Obama thinks other people care as much about the future of this country as he does. That's naive. The tea baggering insane clown posse hates government, hates spending, and hates Obama. But they don't have a vision for the future. Instead, their goal is Obama's defeat in 2012. That's the overriding element in every fight we have in DC. They can't explain it any other way.

mass2On July 4, 1778, George Washington doubled liquor rations for the soldiers quartered in Princeton, NJ, as a way to celebrate Independence Day. It’s fitting, therefore, that the Fourth of July is America's top-selling beer holiday, according to the Beer Institute. It estimated, in 2013, that sales of beer on the 4th could total $1 billion, doubtlessly higher today. “In moderation,” claims a CA brewery investor, Grover McKean, “beer is tasty and healthy.” Who could disagree?

joe mikaAs Donald Trump faces the top world leaders this week, including a face-time with Vladimir Putin, and as his healthcare proposals face an uphill climb, his poll numbers for how the nation views him could be better.

According to a morning Consult/Politico poll released Wednesday morning, his tweets, including that against MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski, and his personality are not helping him, at all.

indy dayII know the calendar says we are approaching the 4th of July, but, it just doesn’t feel like Independence Day.

Perhaps it should.  It’s hot as heck.  The airlines have been packed. The hot dogs are ready for grilling.  The umps are saying, "play ball". The patriotic activities are scheduled. The fireworks are ready-for-blasting.

Yet, it just doesn’t feel like independence day.

bill rights2To President Thomas Jefferson, July 4th celebrated more than the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He thought it was a link to the future. The message prominent colonists sent to King George III led to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the initial and most prominent feature of which is the First Amendment that guarantees free speech. It’s part of the country’s fundamental essence that each man and woman can say what they feel about government, or anything else, proving President Donald Trump needs some civics lessons.
