LSU Should Be In BCS Championship Even If Loses To Georgia
Written by  // Monday, 28 November 2011 11:07 //

lsu_tigersA 41-17 victory over then-No. 3 Arkansas put LSU in Saturday's SEC Championship Game, where the No. 1-ranked Tigers will face No. 12 Georgia.

As expected, undefeated LSU (12-0. 8-0 SEC) remianed No. 1 in the polls.

Kickoff for the SEC Championship Game will be 3 p.m. at the Georgia Dome. The game will be televised by CBS, with ESPN College GameDay on hand for its 8-11 morning show.

SOME hither, others yon: If LSU loses to Georgia on Saturday in the SEC Championship Game, that loss might not count enough for the Tigers to not play in the BCS title game as it is widely assumed the Bengals are still one of the top two teams in college football regardless of the result of that game...Louisiana Tech  (8-4) clinched is first WAC title in a decade with a 44-0 blanking of New Mexico State and accepted an invite from the Poinsetta Bowl...

How's this for classy? Akron coach Rob Ianello, who went 2-22 in two seasons,  found out he was fired while driving to New York for his mother's funeral on Saturday...Ole Miss is still searching for a coach (where the names of Southern Miss' Larry Fedora and Arkansas State's Larry Freeze keep coming up, but with no sign that either is earmarked for the job.)...There's talk that former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt has the Memphis job if he wants it....
