A league official said Saints coach Sean Payton will lose more than $5.8 million as a result of his suspension by the NFL. His yearly salary is $7 million.

His suspension, which begins on April 1 will last about 10 months. The suspension ends after the Super Bowl on Feb. 3,2013 in New Orleans.

Saints defensive tackle Tom Johnson is angry at NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for suspending Payton for the entire 2012 season. Unlike Drew Brees, he's not speechless and had plenty to say.
"This is not right," Johnson told the Sun Herald. "We knew there would be some type of punishment, but not this. We didn't think anything like this  because of the type of man he is. He's our leader and the man we respect. It is going for us to move forward without Sean Payton for any amount of time, especially a year.
