Jindal Picks Major Louisiana Boards and Commission Members

jindal-historicBATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments and reappointments to various boards and commissions including the Patient's Compensation Fund Oversight Board, the reappointment of the Louisiana’s Artist Laureate,  South Lafourche Levee District, St. Mary Levee District Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors of the Louisiana State Lottery Corporation and the Dairy Stabilization Board

 

Below are the following appointments or reappointments

Reappointments to the Patient's Compensation Fund Oversight Board

Clark Cossé, III, of Baton Rouge, is the General Counsel for the Louisiana Hospital Association. Cossé was nominated for reappointment by the Louisiana Hospital Association to represent the class of heath care providers contributing the greatest percentage of the fund's total surcharges, as required by statute.

James Hritz, of Metairie, is the Vice President of Legal Services for the East Jefferson General Hospital. Hritz was nominated for reappointment by the Louisiana Hospital Association to represent the class of heath care providers contributing the greatest percentage of the fund's total surcharges, as required by statute.

Reappointment of Louis Joseph to the Port of South Louisiana Commission

Louis Joseph, of Edgard, is employed with Dow Chemical Company. Joseph will be reappointed to serve as a member appointed by the Governor from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, the Louisiana AFL-CIO, the Southern University River Parishes Alumni Association, and the River Region Chamber of Commerce, as required by statute.

The reappointment of George Rodrigue as Louisiana’s Artist Laureate

George Rodrigue, of New Orleans, is an internationally acclaimed Cajun artist whose works are in major museums and collections across the country. Rodrigue’s paintings have been featured in several books/monographs, and have been the subject of numerous traveling exhibitions and advertising campaigns. Rodrigue is also a community activist promoting causes that benefit Louisiana.  Through his “Blue Dog Relief: George Rodrigue Art Campaign for Recovery Program,” he has raised funds to support recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Rodrigue will be appointed to serve as an artist laureate for the State of Louisiana, as required by statute.      

Reappointments to the South Lafourche Levee District:

Lula Auenson, of Golden Meadow, is retired and was a former town clerk for the Town of Golden Meadow.  Auenson will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Mayor of the Town of Golden Meadow, as required by statute.

Ronald Callais, of Galliano, is the Chairman of the Board for Allied Shipyard, Inc.  Callais will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the Senate representing Senate District 20, as required by statute.

Mitch David Danos, of Cut Off, is an operations manager for offshore services vessels at Kevin Gross Offshore.  Danos will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the House of Representatives representing House District 54, as required by statute.

Bobby Eymard, Sr., of Cut Off, is the former Owner of C&E Boat Rental.  Eymard will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the Senate representing Senate District 20, as required by statute.

Bob Faulk, of Larose, is retired from Bayou Supply & Chemical.  Faulk will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the House of Representatives representing House District 54, as required by statute.

Roy Gisclair, of Cut Off, is the President of AA Pitre Land Company, Inc.  Gisclair will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the House of Representatives representing House District 54, as required by statute.

Ernest Gremillion, of Larose, is the Owner and Operator of G & A Auger and G & A Barge Companies.  Gremillion will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the President of Lafourche Parish, as required by statute.

Clarence “CJ” Marts, Jr., of Cut Off, is the President and Co-Owner of Clarence Marts Contractors, Inc.  Marts will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the member of the Senate representing Senate District 20, as required by statute.

Monty Vegas, of Cut Off, has been in the insurance business since 1985.  Vegas will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Board of Commissioners of the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, as required by statute.

Appointments to the St. Mary Levee District Board of Commissioners:

Norris Crappell, of Berwick, is a waste management supervisor for St. Mary Parish.  Crappell will be reappointed to serve as a representative of the 8th Parish Council District who is nominated by the St. Mary Parish Council, as required by statute.

Barry Broussard, of Berwick, is the President of American Industrial Supplies.  Broussard will be reappointed to serve as a representative of the 6th Parish Council District who is nominated by the St. Mary Parish Council, as required by statute.

Raleigh Boudreaux, of Centerville, is a welding foreman for Sunhand Construction, Inc. Boudreaux will be appointed to serve as a representative of the 4th Parish Council District who is nominated by the St. Mary Parish Council, as required by statute. 

Reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation

Wayne Zaunbrecher, of Gueydan, is a self-employed farmer with over 45 years of experience.  Zaunbrecher will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, Inc., as required by statute.

Appointments to the Louisiana Rice Research Board:

Donald Berken, of Welsh, is a self-employed farmer and is a member of the USA Rice Federation Environmental Regulatory Subcommittee.  Berken will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute.

Richard Fontenot, of Ville Platte, is a self-employed farmer.  Fontenot will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute.

Dane Hebert, of Maurice, is a self-employed farmer.  Hebert will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute.

Robert “Bobby” Miller, of Eunice, is a self-employed farmer.  Miller will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute.

Sammy Noel, of Abbeville, is a self-employed farmer.  Noel will be reappointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute.

Ronnie Sonnier, of Kinder, is a self-employed farmer.  Sonnier will be appointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau, Inc., as required by statute

Reappointment of Larry Katz to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana State Lottery Corporation.

Larry Katz, of Metairie, is the Owner of Dot’s Diners.  Katz will be appointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.

Reappointments to the Grand Isle Independent Levee District:

Kelly J. Besson, Sr., of Grand Isle, is the Owner and Manager of Blanchard Contractors. Beeson will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee who is nominated by the levee district’s legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Bobby Santini, of Grand Isle, is the Vice President of Grand Isle Properties.  Santini will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee who is nominated by the levee district’s legislative delegation, as required by statute.

David Camardelle, of Grand Isle, is the mayor of Grand Isle. Camardelle will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee who is nominated by the levee district’s legislative delegation, as required by statute.

Reappointments to the Dairy Stabilization Board:

Daryl Robertson, of Pine Grove, is a self-employed dairy farmer.  Robertson will be reappointed to serve as a milk producer, as required by statute.

Vincent Cannata, of Houma, is the President of Cannata’s Family Market.  Cannata will be reappointed to serve as a retailer, as required by statute.

Greg Kleinpeter, of Baton Rouge, is the Owner of American Leak Detection (ALD).  Kleinpeter will be reappointed to serve as a consumer, as required by statute.

Gerry Lane, of Baton Rouge, is the Owner of Gerry Lane Enterprises.  Lane will be reappointed to serve as a consumer, as required by statute.

Hillar Moore, Jr., of Baton Rouge, is retired and was the former President of Associated Grocers.  Moore will be reappointed to serve as a wholesale grocer, as required by statute.

Appointment of Charles Moniotte to the Occupational Forecasting Conference

Charles Moniotte, of Baton Rouge, is the retired CEO of Desselle Maggard Corporation.  Moniotte will be appointed to serve as a member selected from nominations submitted by the council, as required by statute.

appointments to the Board of Commissioners for the Capital Area Groundwater Conservation District

Amelia Kent, of Clinton, works as a manager of a nursery.  Kent will be appointed to serve as a member nominated by the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association, as required by statute.

Dale Aucoin, of Zachary, is employed with ExxonMobil and was assigned to their Energy Project Group.  Aucoin will be appointed to serve as a member nominated by the industrial users in the district, as required by statute.
