Tropical Depression Bonnie Heads Towards BP Oil Site

The National Hurricane Center has issued its 5PM EST advisory which states Bonnie  has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression but could return to its Tropical Storm status.  According to the Weather Channel,  the storm is not likely to become a hurricane.  However, the channel states, "On Saturday, Bonnie is expected to move into the northern Gulf with a final landfall expected somewhere between southwestern Louisiana and the Alabama Coast Saturday night."

The storm is heading in the general direction of the BP oil spill site in the Gulf of Mexico.
