Written by  {ga=admin}

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Although President Barack Obama often spoke fondly of Republican Joseph Cao, the current Congressman of  the 2nd Congressional District of Louisiana,  tonight, the President announced that he is endorsing Louisiana State Representative Cedric Richmond, Democratic candidate for Louisiana’s Second Congressional District.  The President’s announcement comes two weeks after Richmond defeated three other Democratic primary opponents and avoided an October 2nd runoff by garnering 60% percent of the vote.

“Cedric Richmond will make an outstanding representative for this district and I am proud to support him in this election because he shares our values and supports our agenda,” said President Obama. “I look forward to working with Cedric in the next Congress because he believes in our shared agenda of increasing access to quality, affordable healthcare and investing in job creation", said President Obama
