Written by  {ga=staffwriters}

After a 33-29 win over Florida on Saturday night, LSU jumped to No. 9 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, which was released on Sunday.

The Tigers remained No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches’ poll while the Tigers were also rated No. 9 in the first Harris Interactive poll of the season.

AP Top 25
1, Ohio State
2. Oregon
3, Boise State
5. Nebraska
7. Auburn
9. LSU
10. South Carolina
11. Utah
13. Michigan State
15. Iowa
16. Florida State
17. Arizona
18. Wisconsin
19. Nevada
20. Oklahoma State
21. Missouri
22. Florida
23. Air Force
24. Oregon State
25.West Virginia

Maybe I was wrong in writing last week that LSU would be a national championship contender with an below-average quarterback. Alternating runner Jordan Jefferson and passer Jarrett Lee got the Tigers a jump to No. 9 in the polls after beating Florida. Jefferson ran for two touchdowns and Lee threw for two. I stand corrected because they are making it with two below-average quarterbacks...
