LSU Hits No. 9 In Polls After Florida Win

After a 33-29 win over Florida on Saturday night, LSU jumped to No. 9 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, which was released on Sunday.

The Tigers remained No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches’ poll while the Tigers were also rated No. 9 in the first Harris Interactive poll of the season.

Maybe I was wrong in writing last week that LSU would be a national championship contender with an below-average quarterback. Alternating runner Jordan Jefferson and passer Jarrett Lee got the Tigers a jump to No. 9 in the polls after beating Florida. Jefferson ran for two touchdowns and Lee threw for two. I stand corrected because they are making it with two below-average quarterbacks...

   Raymond Crews and Robbie Gatti are headed to a runoff in state House District 8 on April 29 to fill  the seat left vacant when Mike Johnson was elected  to Congress.  Both are Republicans.
    Crews came in first with 41% of the vote, followed by Gatti with 37%..  Two other candidates in the race were Duke Lowrie, who finished with 16%, and Patrick Harrington, who had 6%.
