Poll: Should Congressman Vance McAllister resign?

Written by  // Wednesday, 09 April 2014 21:51 //

villereShould Louisiana Congressman Vance McAllister resign?

Reportedly, the Louisiana GOP is discussing this issue as a result of the Congressman's being outed by a video showing his kissing a staffer.

Some news reports claim Roger Villere, the Louisiana GOP Chairman is requesting the resignation but has not yet been able to discuss the issue directly with the Congressman.

Then, there are others who seem to believe McAllister's actions are beneath the moral dignity of the party and more importantly, since he is a RINO (Republican in name only), he should depart one way or another.

So, what should McAllister do?  Should he resign?  Is it fair that the GOP urge his resignation if he has failed to do the same to another Republican federal office-holder, Senator David Vitter, who is running for Governor?

Take our poll about this issue.  Also, below are recent articles and columns about this controversy.

After getting caught kissing a staffer, he is now one of many politicians in the state to have a scandal appended to his Wikipedia page, another data point in the argument that there must be something in the water there that makes politicians a magnet for bad behavior.
