DOLPHINS WANT JAMARCUS?Inside the NFL reports that JaMarcus Russell has been contacted by the Dolphins on the wake of Miami's multiple quarterback of injuries from Sunday's win over the Titans. With the Dolphins having a short week  before their Thursday night game against the Bears, the Dolphins need enough healthy bodies to fill out the depth chart. The Fins lost new starter Chad Pennington after only two plays with his latest shoulder injury. Chad Henne was injured late in the third quarter. The only other quarterback is Tyler Thigpen. Russell, the  first over-all pick in the 2007 draft, had a tryout with the Redskins several weeks ago. He earned $38 million with the Raiders before they cut him for lack of production...

TERRY BRADSHAW admits he's not good at picking winners as  an analyst on "Fox NFL Monday." "I suck a lot," said the former Steelers quarterback from Shreveport. "Everybody is laughing at me, and that hurts. But you know what really burns my butt? Jimmy Johnson (co-host) was winning them all the first  few weeks." Bradshaw, 62, sees himself in the gig until he's in his late 70s, although his  contract expires in four years."I'll be 66. That's still young enough," said Bradshaw. "I'm in good shape and I'm cute as a button."...Some drink out of the fountain of knowledge. I just gargle...Why is an actor on TV, but in a movie?...

catRarely, have I seen few issues that have generated as much raw heat, tension, and passion than the Confederate monuments controversy.

Just as existed during the real civil war, where brothers battled brothers, social media is the battleground, particularly Facebook, pitting friend against friend.

On one side of the tense divide, there are those who are protecting the New Orleans civil war era monuments.  Burnt in effigy, forever, is the symbol of Mayor Mitch Landrieu for up-ending what the monument protectors consider to be the loving civil society of New Orleans.

Lately, events have turned somewhat militaristic.

Some protectors of the Confederate monuments have been staying vigilant, in person and online, even surveilling during the wee hours of the morning, waiting for the next Mayor Landrieu attack. On Sunday morning, with protections of snipers, masked workers and a dumbstruck audience, the worst of all of the monuments was cut and carried., the Liberty Monument.
