Video: Louisiana Senate Finance Committee members upset over Medicaid Expansion expense
Written by

louisiana-legislatureIt’s not that Medicaid Expansion of the Affordable Care Act needs more controversy, but, during this year of fiscal panic over a $1.6B deficit, anything goes.

In the Senate Finance committee on Friday, a new resolution SCR 131 was passed on the Hospital Stabilization Fund regarding expenditures for the State of Louisiana.

The Senate Finance Committee members were upset that they voted on a prior resolution HCR 75 in which they believed there would not be a fiscal note.  However, whether there was confusion, misrepresentation or change of circumstances, the committee passed the SCR 131 resolution by Sen. Claitor.

The video below is instructive as it shows the dependency the legislators have upon the expert opinions of advocacy groups and what occurs when there might be a change.
