It is no wonder that the ratings for the NFL are down this year. The league is in the midst of its worst crisis in decades as it is being hit by one scandal after another. On the heels of the disastrous way it handled the Ray Rice domestic abuse case, the league has completely mishandled the way it treated another star running back, Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings.
Today our country is in the midst of a battle for our survival. We face a well-armed and well -funded terror army, Islamic State, which has grown to 31,500 fighters, including 2,000 from Western nations. President Obama outlined a more aggressive approach in his speech last night to attack the terrorists in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, battling the terrorists in the Middle East is not nearly enough. Due to an open border, there is no doubt that the terrorists have already infiltrated this nation.
It should not have taken a new elevator video for the NFL to indefinitely suspend running back Ray Rice. It should have happened after the first video was released of Rice dragging his unconscious girlfriend, Janay Palmer, from a casino elevator. At that time, it should have been apparent to everyone that Rice punched his girlfriend since she walked into the elevator, but was dragged out.
As another season of professional football excitement begins, it is becoming crystal clear that the NFL is beholden to a politically correct liberal agenda.
In the past week, two New Orleans residents have been arrested for shooting criminals. The latest case occurred on Monday in Mid-City when Martynenez Grigsby shot an intruder who tried to illegally enter her apartment. She was arrested for one count of aggravated battery after police said she refused to cooperate. Last week, Pastor Willie Littleton of Algiers was arrested for shooting a man accused of stealing cooper from an air conditioning unit outside of his church.
This election has been most difficult one ever for incumbent U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA). She is humorously known as “landslide Landrieu” for winning close elections, but she has not been known for making campaign mistakes. Usually, she has run brilliant campaigns, pulling out close victories over Republican opponents. It has been particularly impressive since Louisiana is a conservative state and has been trending Republican for decades.
Now that Michael Brown has been laid to rest in Ferguson, Missouri, don’t expect the liberal media, the race hustlers or the Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate what happened in West Point, Mississippi.

Unbelievably, the drumbeat is beginning for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney to run for President a third time. The man who lost twice for President is now being encouraged by many party leaders to give it another try. Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) recently told MSNBC, “I think he’s proven right on a lot of stuff. I happen to be in the camp that thinks he’s actually going to run and I think he will be the next president of the United States.”
Several years ago, the Occupy Wall Street movement created disturbances across the country. The protests were a flash in the pan and dissipated rather quickly.
August is usually the month when politicians retire to their vacation homes and relax at taxpayer expense. Congress is paid for a 5-week vacation and President Obama and his family have made it a tradition to enjoy a multi week vacation at Martha's Vineyard, the playground of the rich.
