This past week has been a particularly violent one in New Orleans. A criminal court judge was carjacked; a couple was brutally assaulted in the heart of the Central Business District.

Louisiana is a poor state with a struggling economy. We have substandard schools, roads, and bridges.

As President Obama continues with his disastrous second term, it seems the scandals are mounting on a daily basis. From the first term, there are the leftover scandals involving energy” jobs and the Solyndra debacle. administration wasted millions of dollars on a company that went bankrupt; one year after President Obama visited their corporate headquarters and praised their work.

What has long been suspected has finally been exposed. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has admitted targeting Tea Party organizations and other conservative groups.

It seems every few weeks; there is an election in Louisiana. Whether it is a special election or a school board wants to pass a tax issue, voters are being overloaded with too many elections.

 By announcing this week that the Plan B One-Step, otherwise known as the “morning- after pill” would now be available over the counter for girls as young as 15 years old, the Food and Drug Administration has dealt another blow to families across the nation. Previously, only girls 17 years of age and older had access to these pills and only with a prescription. After a judge ruled that the age limit was illegal, the FDA lowered the age to 15, so young children will have access to these powerful pills without parental approval or a prescription. 

In the politically correct world of sports today, it is no surprise that the media went crazy in praising Jason Collins, the first gay professional athlete to go public. Collins is a 7 foot free agent center who is a 34 year old journeyman in the NBA.

Under a clear sky and in front of 10,000 people, all of the living members of the most exclusive club in the world gathered yesterday in Dallas for the dedication of the George W. Bush presidential library.

It is not looking good for the Democrats as the party attempts to retain the Senate and gain control of the House in the upcoming mid-term elections.
