This just in: The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a criminal complaint against Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accusing the 19-year-old of using a weapon of mass destruction and of causing “malicious destruction resulting in death.”

The criminal complaint was filed in Boston federal court, meaning the Obama administration decided to use the civilian court system rather than turn Mr. Tsarnaev over to the military for prosecution.

The White House on Monday said the surviving suspect of the Boston Marathon bombings wouldn’t be tried as an enemy combatant and said the U.S. court system has a track record of properly prosecuting terrorists.
