BATON ROUGE – LSU had its final scrimmage of the preseason on Tuesday as the Tigers went through a 150-play workout indoors at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.
LSU now turns its attention to next week's season-opener against TCU in Arlington, Texas. The Tigers and Horned Frogs kickoff at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 in the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN.
"We had a good go at it," LSU coach Les Miles said.
"This film will be the style that an assistant coach will be able to correct from and improve our football team. I like the position that we are in. The scrimmage itself made it obvious that we are a talented team but there are some things we need to correct."
Miles said that while he is not ready to name a starting lineup for the season-opener, the scrimmages have given the staff a pretty good feel for which players are in position to see action for the Tigers against TCU.
"I think we will take it all the way till game week before we decide our two-deep," Miles said. "I'm more set on who is going to play than who will start."
Tuesday's scrimmage was scripted and featured redzone, tight zone, four-minute and two-minute offense.
