BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry figure their close friendship off the field has something to do with their emergence as one of the top receiving tandems in college football.
Beckham refers to Landry as the brother he never had growing up. Landry says their friendship, which began at a football camp while they were in high school, hasn't faded with their big-time college success. He says they still rely heavily on each other help and guidance.
Meanwhile, LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger has relied on both of them to complete passes. The pair has accounted for nearly 72 percent of Mettenberger's completions. They have 83 catches combined for 1,407 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Now they're Mississippi's problem. The Rebels host the No. 6 Tigers on Saturday night.
