NATALBANY, LA (WAFB) -

A traffic stop in Tangipahoa Parish led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and a woman was arrested and charged with multiple crimes.

A deputy was patrolling the area near Hwy 1064 and Hwy 1065 in Natalbany, LA just before 11 p.m. when he spotted a black Lincoln Navigator traveling down the road with its front bumper hanging and beating on the tires.

Reports say 26-year-old Janaviene Bicknell of Loranger, LA was the driver of the SUV.

The deputy who initiated the stop says Bicknell was unable to provide a driver's license, vehicle registration or insurance verification. He later learned that Bicknell had numerous outstanding arrest warrants and was wanted for questioning in reference to a recent burglary.

During the roadside investigation, deputies found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine inside Bicknell's vehicle.

Bicknell was taken into custody and charged with possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, five counts of failure to appear on traffic offenses, driving under suspension and was given a notice of violation for insurance.
