Baton Rouge police arrested a suspect in the fatal Tuesday night shooting of Kedrick Ricard outside of an apartment complex just north of Florida Boulevard on North Ardenwood Drive.

Police identified the suspect Wednesday morning as Eric Johnson, 25, and arrested him later in the day in the 3200 block of Plank Road, said Cpl.

L’Jean McKneely, a police spokesman.

Police located Johnson, of 1844 Gayosa Ave., after receiving an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip. He will be booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, McKneely said.

The shooting remains under investigation, and the details that led to it remain unclear, McKneely said.
