Spouse’s arrest comes into play
Prosecutors will not file charges against Baton Rouge singer Allison Collins following her February arrest on domestic abuse violence, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office.
District Attorney Hillar Moore III said Collins presented his office with some credible evidence about what happened Dec.
21, the night the incident was said to have occurred. Moore said they weighed that evidence before ultimately deciding not to charge her.
“I would like to thank all of my fans and my friends and family who stuck by me and believed in me and knew that the story wasn’t true,” Collins said when contacted Sunday afternoon.
The arrest of her husband, Kerry Rhys, on possession of Schedule II drugs June 11, when he is accused of buying methadone, also factored into the decision, Moore said.
