BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The USS Kidd Veterans Museum has been selected as a location for an upcoming episode of "NCIS: New Orleans."
The museum will be closed from August 18 until August 22 for filming and ongoing inventory.
CBS's new show is a spin-off from the extremely popular NCIS and stars Scott Bakula, CCH Pounder and Zoe McLellan. The show is set in the Crescent City and is based on the real life Naval Criminal Investigative Service bureau in Louisiana.
Evan Easton, the New Orleans location manager, said they were looking for a real naval battle ship and the USS Kidd was an ideal location.
"This partnership couldn't come at a better time, as we've been looking for creative ways to generate more income," said Alex Juan, USS Kidd executive director. "And having NCIS film here will not only help us financially, but will highlight both the Kidd and the city of Baton Rouge.
