Candidates crowded the Secretary of State’s office Wednesday morning with checks and paperwork to confirm their place on the Nov. 4 ballot.

official opening. The Baton Rouge Republican was accompanied by his wife and 12-year-old daughter.
U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu was scheduled to arrive later in the day. Louisiana Republican Party officials circulated among the crowd waiting with cameras and handing out aggressive questions for the media to ask.
About 20 candidates for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, Louisiana Public Service Commission, and judges came in the first hour of the official qualifying.
Qualifying continues until 4:30 p.m.
