BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Emergency crews were called out to a house fire early Monday that investigators have ruled as arson.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported it happened on Bank Street near Byron Avenue in Baton Rouge just before 2 a.m.

Firefighters said they arrived on the scene to find a bathroom on fire, which they put out in about 10 minutes.

They added the rest of the home received light smoke and water damage.

LSU students in public relations took their skills in advertising and marketing and adopted the organ donor cause.

Wednesday night those students celebrated their project with LOPA, the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency. The crawfish looked great. The LSU students plan to campaign on campus to signup new people in Louisiana's organ donor registry. That records of people willing to donate.

April is Organ Donor Awareness month. Which was reason enough to share a Cajun feast with snowballs for dessert!

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police Detectives looking for a man they say robbed the Capital One Bank on College Drive at around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The suspect entered the bank located at 3110 College Drive, through the back doors, which is also a public entrance, and approached the front counter. He passed a note demanding money from the teller. The suspect also raised the front of his shirt for the teller to observe a gun in his waistband.

Detectives are trying to identify and track down two women suspected of breaking into vehicles, stealing checks and trying to cash them.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported the suspects were seen trying to cash a stolen check.

Deputies said the victim reported on Feb. 15, 2014 that the back window of her car was shattered and her purse was taken while the vehicle was parked on YMCA Plaza Drive in Baton Rouge.
