PINEVLLE, La. (AP) - Louisiana College officials say they are encouraged after three days of meetings with a delegation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/1fwIIDP ) SACS officials were on the Pineville campus of the private Baptist school last week to examine college's progress in meeting requirements to earn reaffirmation of accreditation. Louisiana College was placed on warning status in December 2011. That status was renewed for a second year in December 2012.
This is the third team to visit the college since October 2011. In its report issued last December, SACS found "significant non-compliance" with the commission's standards; failure to make timely and significant progress toward correcting the deficiencies that led to its non-compliance standing; or failure to comply with commission policies and procedures.
