MONROE, La. (AP) - Alex Hamilton led Louisiana Tech with 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists on Sunday in an 83-61 victory over Louisiana-Monroe.

Michale Kyser put Louisiana Tech up by 20 with a layup just 8 seconds into the second half and the Bulldogs never allowed ULM to get any closer.

Jaron Johnson and Cordarius Johnson each scored 12. Michale Kyser added 10 points and four blocks for the Bulldogs who shot 32 for 56 (57.1 percent).

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Craig Sword scored 20 points and ignited a decisive rally in the final eight minutes Friday as Mississippi State defeated Southeastern Louisiana 68-62.

The Bulldogs (6-2) snapped a 54-54 tie on a three-point play by Sword with 7:29 left and never trailed again. Sword accounted for 11 consecutive points in the crucial stretch run, hitting three baskets and assisting a Gavin Ware layup for a 63-58 lead with 3:15 left.

HAMMOND, Louisiana (AP) - Bryan Bennett marched his team 85 yards in six plays for the winning touchdown with 36 seconds remaining as Southeastern Louisiana came back to defeat Sam Houston State 30-29 Saturday night and win the FCS second round playoff.

Southeastern Louisiana (11-2) advances to play New Hampshire next week.

Bennett, who finished with 369 total yards and three touchdowns, completed six consecutive passes on the last scoring drive. He hit Jeff Smiley from one yard out for the score, the lead and the victory.

Sam Houston (9-5) jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter. The Lions then scored 17 unanswered points to lead 24-21 at the half.

Sam Houston scored 8 points in the second half. Eric Fieilo sacked Bennett for a safety before Brian Bell rushed for a 2-yard touchdown.

Tim Flanders led the Bearkats with 82 yards rushing.

DENTON, Texas (AP) - Alzee Williams scored 18 points and Jordan Williams added 15 more along with 10 rebounds as North Texas defeated Southeastern Louisiana 75-61 on Saturday night.

Chris Jones contributed 14 points and Keith Coleman 10 for the Mean Green (5-3).

Onochie Ochie led the Lions (3-3) with 15 points with JaMichael Hawkins adding 14 and Devonte Upson 12.

North Texas took a 41-27 lead at halftime on the strength of 50 percent shooting.

Though their shooting prowess tailed off a little in the second half, the Mean Green were up by 18 at one point and never allowed the Lions to get within single digits. Southeast Louisiana shot only 34.4 percent for the game, including just 3 of 16 from 3-point range.

North Texas had a 45-37 edge on the boards with Colin Voss grabbing 12 rebounds. Jordan Williams' double-double was the first of the junior's career.

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Kolton Browning threw two touchdown passes and Louisiana-Monroe held on to defeat Louisiana-Lafayette 31-28 Saturday night.

Browning hit Rashon Ceaser with a 16-yard touchdown pass, then connected with Ajalen Holley for a two-point conversion to give Louisiana-Monroe (6-6, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) a 28-21 lead. Justin Maton kicked a 28-yard field goal to cap the scoring for ULM. Holley also caught a 29-yard touchdown from Browning in the first quarter.

Brooks Haack threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Jamal Robinson to bring Louisiana-Lafayette within three with 53 seconds remaining, yet the Rajin' Cajuns did not recover the ensuing onside kick.

Terrance Broadway, the Rajin' Cajuns starting quarterback, accounted for two touchdowns, but threw three interceptions on three consecutive drives. Two were thrown in the ULM end zone.

Despite the loss, Louisiana-Lafayette (8-3, 5-1) will at least share the conference title because of Arkansas State's 34-31 loss to Western Kentucky.

HAMMOND, La. (AP) - Bryan Bennett amassed 409 total yards and scored five touchdowns to lead Southeastern Louisiana to a 56-14 win over Stephen F. Austin Saturday night.

Bennett, who had 337 yards passing and 72 yards rushing, led the Lions to their first score on a 53-yard dash. Rasheed Harrell scored from 4 yards out to put Southeastern Louisiana (4-2, 1-0 Southland Conference) ahead 14-0 in this conference opener for both schools.

Bennett had four touchdown tosses in the second quarter as the Lions went into the locker room leading 42-7. Bennett started the third quarter the same way, hitting Chris Malot for an 85-yard touchdown strike, extending the lead to 49-7.

The Lumberjacks (2-4, 0-1) closed the gap to 14-7 when Gus Johnson scored from 3 yards out in the first quarter.

The Lumberjacks were driving again when Marice Sutton intercepted a Brady Attaway pass, returning it 45 yards for a score.

MONROE, La. (AP) - Orleans Darkwa rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown to lead Tulane to a 31-14 victory over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday night.

The game started as a defensive battle, with the Green Wave (3-2, 1-0 Conference USA) leading 10-0 at the half. Darkwa scored on a 1-yard plunge early in the third to extend the lead to 17-0. The Tulane defense added a touchdown when Jordan Batiste sacked Kolton Browning, knocking the ball loose. Dominique Robertson scooped up the fumble, returning it 33 yards for a touchdown. Batiste also had eight tackles and one interception.

Browning, who was 12 of 27 for 134 yards passing for Louisiana-Monroe (2-3), became ULM's career passing leader with 9,051 yards. He was 12 of 27 for 134 yards against Tulane.

The Warhawks got on the board when Rashon Ceaser returned a punt 88 yards to make it 24-7 in the third quarter.
