JPSO in a news release said the brothers are Raynell Whittaker, 16; Louin Whittaker, 14; and Jwuan Whittaker, 9. Their mother left them in the custody of a family friend who lives in the 1100 block of Tensas Drive in Harvey. When a friend went to check on the boys Wednesday, JPSO said, they weren't in the apartment.
JPSO didn't say how long the boys had been missing.
Deputies searched last night and early this morning but didn't find the brothers. All leads have been exhausted, JPSO said.
"Although, we don't suspect foul play in the disappearance of these boys, we are concerned for their welfare and are seeking the public's assistance in locating and reuniting them with the family friend," JPSO said in the release.
Anyone with information about the three brothers is asked to call Detective Ricardo Ramos at (504) 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
