According to the survey, 81 percent of small business ownersexpect to do better this year than last year. Business owners polled saidwithin the U.S. political environment, their top concern was economic growthand the health of the economy.
Additional concerns included new health care laws and taxpolicy.
Governing.com, which shows a sample of questions asked,reports that half of all business owners surveyed said economic uncertaintyis the top impediment for their business' growth.
As many businesses continueto mull over changes mandated by the Affordable Care Act, about 45 percent ofthe businesses said they have not yet, or do not plan on enrolling in the Affordable Care Act in thenext year or two.
The Affordable Care Act mandates that employers with 50 or more full-time employees offer health coverage, or face a penalty. Full-time employees are considered those working at least 30 hours per week. Of small businesses surveyed, eight percent said the Affordable Care Act led them to hire fewer employees.
