NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune published a story Wednesday about a police officer shooting a man in Algiers more than two days earlier. The Police Department did

not notify the public about the shooting until the story published, and the only public record available made no mention of a man being shot. NOPD Superintendent Ronals Serpas called a news conference to apologize for the failure to disclose the shooting.
