6th Congressional District race sees eight candidates enter the field on first day of qualifying

A busy morning of signings and notary stamping at the Louisiana Secretary of State's office produced a field -- so far -- of eight candidates vying

for Louisiana's 6th Congressional District.

Those who qualified Wednesday (Aug. 20) morning to represent the mostly conservative district include the following Republicans: Gov. Bobby Jindal's former coastal advisor Garret Graves, state Sen. Dan Claitor, Anedote.com founder Paul Ditzel and Trey Thomas.

Former four-term Democratic governor and ex-convict Edwin Edwards qualified
