NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for a missing Desire woman and her two children that haven't been seen or heard from in days.
According to police, 26-year-old Damica James and her two children 3-year-old Caniya Marshall and 1-year-old Jeremy Collier called James' mother on April 18 around noon, but have not been seen or heard from since. James' mother said that not having any contact with her daughter and grand children is very uncharacteristic of them.
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A newly released report finds big changes are being made at Orleans Parish Criminal Court. But the system is far from perfect, as Court Watch NOLA found out.
Last year, 104 Court Watch NOLA volunteers sat in on 2,500 different hearings at Tulane and Broad.
Executive Director Brad Cousins says, "We think the citizens have the right and duty to know what's going on and let the rest of the city know about that.
NEW ORLEANS, LA - Thousands of Crescent City Classic runners pounded the pavement with a purpose.
"I've been running off and on since I was about 13 years old," said Patrick Gavin, the First New Orleanian to cross the finish line.
With a number pinned to his chest and memories in his heart, Gavin finished the 10k in just under 36 minutes.
"It's actually the reason I got into running. My dad and I used to do this race.
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- New Orleans Police Detectives are searching for a man who committed a simple robbery in the French Quarter. The incident occurred Saturday at 3:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Chartres Street.
According to police, the victim was walking within the block when he was approached by an unknown African-American man. The man punched the victim, knocking him to the ground. The man then tried to take the victim's wallet and ripped the victim's pants pocket in the process.

Saturday, the Shreveport - Bossier community is honoring a little girl by doing what she would have wanted: helping others.
In July of 2009 an Ark-La-Tex girl lost her life in a bus accident. 12-year old Maggie Lee Henson was among a group of people from First Baptist Church in Shreveport headed for camp. Even on the day she died, Maggie along with 22 other children from First Baptist Church were headed to help others in need.
MARRERO, LA (WVUE) - A man who may have been attempting to rob a store in Marrero died after getting stuck in the vents.
Jefferson Parish Police responded to a 911 call at Greg's Food Mart on Westwood Drive after the owner came to work to find a man's legs dangling from an oven vent in the kitchen.
According to Sheriff Newell Norman, investigators determined the man appeared to be breaking in to the building through the vents after seeing the rest of his body stuck in an entry point on the roof.

NEW ORLEANS (WUVE) - As the New Orleans rental market tightens, prices climb fast. In some areas, realtors say, many middle class families find rent is rising out of reach.
"It's a fierce rental market," said New Orleans Realtor Katie Witry.
Witry said many New Orleans listings will be rented within days.
"I had a property on Palmer Avenue go up, it was $2,500, a 3 bedroom 2 bath rental. I put it up on a Thursday, that Friday I had ten couples look at it.
