Every so often (actually, pretty regularlike) a talent trods the Voodoo Mystere Lounge's boards who makes those boards shiver in anticipation. Such a performer is DIANA E.H. SHORTES, makng her Voodoo debut with her new original solo, The Baroness Undressed. Ms. Shortes, a powerful actor, poet, and monologuist, will present this slice of New Orleans history for three weekends in October.
In The Baroness Undressed, the Baroness Pontalba tells the darkly humorous tale of the incredible injustices inflicted upon her by her father-in-law. In the face of great adversity, her phoenix-like journey to historic and cultural significance reflects the legendary status of the city of her birth, New Orleans.
