October 17-The Historic New Orleans Collection celebrates our city’s culture with Concerts in the Courtyard, a series featuring live local music and cocktails in The Collection’s beautiful French Quarter courtyard at 533 Royal Street.The fall series continues Friday, October 17, with a performance by Ingrid Lucia & the Flying Neutrinos and cocktails by Sazerac Rye Whiskey. Ingrid Lucia and The Flying Neutrinos have been touring, writing and recording together for at least two decades (the group started as a family band). 2008 FALL GARDEN SHOW-New OrleansBotanical Garden,CityPark
The Fall Garden Show will be held in the New OrleansBotanical Garden in CityPark on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM both days. The show is both a family event and an educational experience for the home gardeners and professionals. Admission to the show is $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 5-12, children under 5 and Friends of City Park are free.
The show features exhibits and sales of plants and garden products throughout the Garden. Educational programs will be held in the GardenStudyCenter. The programs are free with admission to the garden. There is a Scarecrow Contest that will charm adults as well as children. The Kids Discovery Area will teach and fascinate its young visitors.

Japan Fest, the largest annual celebration of Japanese culture in the Gulf South, returns to the New Orleans Museum of Art on Sunday, October 19, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a full day of traditional music, folk dancing and martial arts demonstrations, plus food, games, crafts and more spread throughout the Museum and the surrounding City Park grounds.
All outdoor Japan Fest activities are free to everyone; Museum admission for out-of-state visitors is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $4 for children. The crowd-pleasing Kaminari Taiko of Houston return with their massive drumming
demonstration as headliners of this year's Japan Fest.

October 31--GREATER NEW ORLEANS FIRST RESPONDENT FUND: Krewe of Boo Halloween Parade/Party
The Krewe of Boo- New Orleans' Official Halloween Parade- is the newest addition to the City's festival season!
Created by New Orleans' own Blaine Kern Sr., the mastermind producing Mardi Gras for over 60 years, the Krewe of Boo will be unlike any other parade in the world. The first ever Halloween Parade of the Krewe of Boo to benefit the Greater New Orleans First Respondent will roll on October 31 starting at 5:15 p.m. in Elysian Fields and Decatur Street, passing in front of St Louis Cathedral and Cafe Du Monde, rolling along Canal, then it makes an u-turn where Bourbon and Carondolet intersect with Canal, proceeds backs toward the river and will end up at the new East Bank Blaine Kern Studios near the robin Street Wharf, where there will be a post-parade soiree called the Halloween Costume Expose. . This black and orange extravaganza is outfitted in first-class décor, exquisite Mardi Gras World props, themed lighting, thousands of costumed patrons, and phenomenal entertainment! Membership is $650 and party afterward is $100 per person.
