ALICANTE, Spain — Freshman Raigyne Moncrief scored 12 of her game-high 20 points in the second half as the LSU women’s basketball team closed out its Spain exhibition schedule in Spain with a 79-42 win over the Catholic University of Murcia on Sunday.
Moncrief and Jasmine Rhodes combined for 34 points, and Theresa Plaisance added 18 points in a 101-28 exhibition win over the Catholic University of Murcia on Saturday
The Lady Tigers posted a 3-1 record and got contributions from all nine players.
“This has given us a chance to bond,” LSU coach Nikki Caldwell said of the trip. “You can expect to see a team that is more disciplined on the offensive end. We have a lot of different looks that we can put on the floor. I am very pleased with our returning players. Our three freshmen can change the tempo of the game. That is something that will make us better. This team will be playing on a mission. We have appreciated everything about this opportunity to be in Spain.”
In Sunday’s game, Shanece McKinney netted 12 points, Anne Pedersen added 11— including six straight in the third quarter as all nine players scored for the second straight day.
