LSU Question of the Day: How will LSU-NC play out?

Written by  |  Tuesday, 18 June 2013 11:11  |  Published in Louisiana Sports News

LSU has six starters who are hitting higher than .300, yet the team was held to just five hits against UCLA. North Carolina's starter, freshman Trent Thornton, was a closer for most of the year, but finished with 11 wins, and his ERA was the seventh-lowest in the country at 1.28. Hitters are batting just .194 against him.

LSU starter Cody Glenn hasn't pitched in almost a month, after being suspended for the NCAA Regional, and not being used in the Super Regional. Glenn is 7-2 this season with a 2.41 ERA, while opponents are batting .234 against him.

How will Tuesday's game play out? Will LSU's bats come alive? Will Cody Glenn silence North Carolina's powerful lineup, led by No. 6 overall pick in the MLB draft, Colin Moran? Vote and comment below.

Chat with Jeff Duncan today at 11:30 a.m.

Written by  |  Tuesday, 18 June 2013 10:01  |  Published in Louisiana Sports News

Join me for a live chat today from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This post is featured in the Saints Central blog but I'm ready, willing and somewhat able to discuss all topics: LSU baseball; the NBA Draft; the Steve Gleason controversy. The only thing off limits is the performance by my alma mater (Louisville) in the College World Series. I'm calling a moratorium on that effort. Otherwise, it's open lines as my talk radio brethren would say.

You know the drill. Just type your comment or question in the "reply" field at the bottom of this file and the chat will be off and running. If you'd like to submit questions/comments early go right ahead. I'll join the chat live at 11:30 and begin to answer them. Cheers.
