Three armed robberies were reported in New Orleans during the weekend, according to the NOPD.
The first occurred in the 1000 block of Dumaine Street on Friday night. A 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were walking in the French Quarter about 5:30 p.m. when they were approached from behind by two men, one brandishing a handgun. The suspects demanded their belongings and the two men complied.
A second armed robbery took place Saturday evening at 1 Canal Street in the Central Business District.
A 31-year-old man was approached at 7:20 p.m. by two gunman who demanded his property. One of the suspects punched him in the face before swiping his cell phone and other belongings. The two suspects then fled with a group of six other men and two women.
A third armed robbery took place later on Saturday in the 5100 block of McArthur Boulevard in Algiers. Two 17-year-old men were walking at about 10 p.m. when they were approached by a masked gunman who demanded cash. They complied and the suspect fled on foot.
