WALKER, LA (WAFB) -

A Denham Springs man and a St. Amant woman were arrested Friday night by Walker Police after a 6-month-old child was found locked in a hot car in the Walker Walmart parking lot.

Police say 35-year-old Billy Arthur Henry, Jr. and 32-year-old Lana Wallace Henry were arrested on charges of child cruelty, possession of controlled dangerous substances and related offenses.

Captain John Sharp with the Walker Police Department says they were called to the parking lot around 7:15 p.m.

BUFORD, Ga. – A suburban Atlanta couple accused of locking their son in the basement of their home for more than a year were charged with child cruelty and false imprisonment, police said Thursday.

The Buford couple is accused of confining the 13-year-old boy to a small room with a mattress and a makeshift toilet, Gwinnett County police spokesman Jake Smith said.

Authorities began investigating after the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services received an anonymous tip June 15, Smith said.

Man accused of molesting 7-year-old

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said a man was arrested for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old child on June 19.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Roger Deerman, 50, is charged with molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Deputies said the incident happened at apartment complex on Leake Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim said she and another girl were playing around the complex near the defendant and his roommate when she was inappropriately touched.

Roger Lane Deerman, 50, has been charged with molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery, and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies say the victim is a seven-year-old child.

The incident happened on June 19 on Leake Avenue.

The victim said she and another female juvenile were playing around the complex near the defendant and his roommate when she was inappropriately touched.

He was transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A nationwide operation by the FBI to address commercial child sex trafficking led to the recovery of 167 children who were being victimized through prostitution. Three of those children were found in Louisiana.

Louisiana results included the recovery of three children and the arrest of 16 pimps. Also arrested were 75 prostitutes. The operation included enforcement actions in six cities throughout Louisiana, namely New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport and Monroe.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport native Mickey Williams, 35, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of child pornography.

Agents searched Williams' home in January of 2012, and found about 150 pictures of child porn and a video. Some of those images include photos of prepubescent children and bestiality, according to U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley's Office.

Williams now faces up to 10 years in prison.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have identified the little boy who died after he was struck by a Caddo Parish school bus on Thursday afternoon.

Police say it was 6-year-old Brendan Houston that was critically injured just after getting off of bus #278 in Shreveport's North Highland's neighborhood just before 4 p.m. The boy was rushed to University Health Shreveport, where he died.
