Baton Rouge officials are calling the city's latest auction a big success.
East Baton Rouge's purchasing director says the auction brought in more than $500,000. In fact, a diamond engagement ring seized in a courthouse evidence room scandal fetched nearly $18,000. By the way, the money raised goes back to the departments where the items came from and Baton Rouge Police Narcotics department will get a big chunk of it.
No word yet on how they plan to use it.
