One of Mitch Landrieu’s top aides ever since he first ran for Lt. Governor has left the fold.
Today, Deputy Mayor of External Affairs Emily Arata announced that after over ten years of service to the City and the State, she will leave her post on Jan. 15, 2016, to serve as the Director of Economic Development Initiatives and Community Relations for the Ochsner Health System.

Emily Sneed Arata is the younger sister of former Jefferson Parish councilwoman Jennifer Sneed.

landrieu leeIn New Orleans, 2015 ended just as it began, with a plethora of violence. There were 165 murders in New Orleans last year, a 10% increase from 2014. Other violent crime categories, such as armed robbery, rape and carjacking increased as well. In fact, crime researcher Jeff Asher noted that in each of the last 74 days of 2015 at least one armed robbery or carjacking occurred.

JIM JOEYIs the incoming Louisiana Governor, John Bell Edwards, telling the truth about the severity of the budget which over the next year-and-a-half could be as deep as $2.6 billion short?  According to Team Edwards, the budget is much more horrific than anticipated.  Some believe the Jon Bel Edwards camp is not be candid about this issue. Others, especially some of the former Vitter supporters are outright calling him a liar.
