The poll was commissioned by business persons and The Advocate owner John Georges . The most recent MRI poll had New Orleans City Councilwoman LaToya Cantrell with a slight one-point lead over Michael Bagneris, 27 to 26 percent with Charbonnet closely trailing at 25 percent.
Bagneris, Troy Henry and perennial Mayoral candidate Manny Chevrolet Bruno will be on the Politics with a Punch panel, tonight, at Eiffel society along with two candidates running for city council and comedian Chris Champagne. Learn More
The poll indicates that Bagneris has climbed from 26 to 33 percent in the two week interval since the last MRI survey. Cantrell who led in that poll has dropped from 27 to 23 percent and Charbonnet has climbed from 25 percent to 30 percent.
Troy Henry ranked fourth with two percent with 12 percent undecided.
New Orleans Mayor's race
Charbonnet has become the center of controversy Wednesday when she cancelled her appearance for a Mayoral forum held by Sidney Torres’s super pac, Voice PAC due to what she said was issues of ethics related to the forum. Two television reporters, scheduled to be on the panel to ask questions dropped out of the forum on Wednesday.
According to reports, Torres has responded has threatened to run commercials against her, in response.
