“We declared clearly that the Russian government did not meddle in U.S. processes, does not meddle and moreover did not meddle in the 2016 elections,” according to Putin aide, Yuri Ushakov, as reported by the New York Times.
It’s reassuring that Russia can still be trusted, though there’s a worry about the triple negative Ushakov uses in his general denial. Math aside, the president, allegedly, will straighten it all out when he meets in summit with Vladimir Putin next month, at which time superlatives will be expressed and best smiles flashed. The event, however, could do some good if it’s a substantive meet and not a P.R. stunt.
Filmmaker Michael Moore announced that his upcoming documentary, Fahrenheit 11/9, will be released on September 21. In the film, Moore will attempt to politically damage President Donald Trump by taking a “provocative and comedic look at the times in which we live.” In addition, Moore claims that his documentary will focus on “How the hell we got in this situation, and how we’re going to get out of it."
Might President Donald Trump, whose anti-regulations policies have helped boost the economy, reverse some of the country’s gains with his trade policy, specifically tariffs and potential trade war?
That appears to be the question that many economists and business persons are wondering right now as the tariffs have begun but has not filtered down to some of the component manufacturer’s yet. Yet! Which is the point that Jay Lapeyre appears to be making in my interview that I did with him yesterday.
For years the Republican Party has been promising to enact tough border security measures that would stop the flow of illegal immigrants into this country. They have campaigned on funding a border wall, ending “catch and release” policies, putting a halt to chain migration and finally starting to crack down on companies that employ illegal aliens.
The US Supreme Court has now become a major November election issue now that Justice Kennedy is retiring which will go into effect July 31. Trump surprised the nation in 2016 with his victory and one of the major issues was the Supreme Court. To the Democrats disadvantage, that topic appeared to be more important to Republicans than Democrats as the battle cry for conservatives was "Remember the Supreme Court"
Congresman Cedric Richmond, the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus issued this statement today defending Congresswoman Maxine Waters after her urging the refusing to accomodate members of the Trump administration in public restaurants, gas stations and other similar locations.
If there’s “fruit of the poisonous tree” tainting the Mueller probe, it comes from a tree planted by president Donald Trump. The phrase is catchy, however, even if it’s completely inapplicable during the course of an investigation. Once a trial, or proceeding, has commenced, and evidence introduced, a defendant, then, may object that any proffered evidence was illegally, or improperly, obtained. Until evidence is introduced admissibility isn’t an issue. It’s no surprise, though, that Trump will say, or do, anything to impede the investigation into Russia that may touch him, personally.
The Red Hen got egged today, except it was the wrong bird. The Washington DC Red Hen which has nothing to do with the one in Virginia whose owner disgustingly gave Trump’s press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the boot, has received threats and eggs thrown at it.
You're upset over Trump Derangement Syndrome. I'm outraged about moer "Trump Lies Syndrome".
Today, was Exhibit A.
During the White House signing of the executive order reversing his outrageous “zero tolerance” policy on the issue of separating children from parents, Trump did a “birther”.
Each day, it gets worse across the world, but especially in our country. The epidemic of Trump Derangement Syndrome is spreading quickly across the American leftist population. It is easily apparent in a media that is 95% anti-Trump and includes liberal reporters who masquerade as objective journalists. It also includes so-called analysts who constantly compare the President to Hitler and his policies to Nazism and who shout offensive questions at the White House Press Secretary at her daily briefings.
This epidemic has infected plenty of establishment Republicans and the entire leadership of the Democratic Party. These politicians refuse to work with the President and constantly look for ways to pursue impeachment charges.
The best reason to enact gun control in the United States is to keep the administration from shooting itself in the foot. Its lemming-like rush to obliterate gains is stunning in scope and breathtaking to behold. Just as the president’s poll numbers were rising; fever for investigations falling; personal scandals receding; a somewhat contrived diplomatic coup achieved; and oblivion continuing to shrouding Republican cowardice, the administration decided that strict compliance with U.S. immigration laws required internment of children brought to the border by asylum seekers and illegal immigrants. If that wasn’t enough, new directives removed spousal abuse and gang violence as just causes for asylum.
To the envy of people throughout the world, Americans enjoy precious freedoms which are enshrined in our Bill of Rights. Fortunately, this includes freedom of the press to conduct their journalistic responsibilities without undue government interference.
James Comey, former FBI director, was considered to be contradiction, a riddle wrapped in an enigma. Now he’s a riddle wrapped in an enigma inside a Rubik’s cube. The Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, today, called Comey insubordinate and called his judgment into question. There’s a lot of questionable judgment running around Washington these days, including forcible segregation of immigrant children from their parents at the border, fetes for a ruthless dictator famed for killing members of his own family, and alleged official self-enrichment that would make King Midas blush.
