 The annual rankings of governors and members of Congress by POLITICO/Morning Consult is out, and it shows Louisiana’s Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards with a 53% job approval rating.

Another battle is brewing on Capitol Hill, but this time it is not about taxes or healthcare, but the critical issue of consumer protection. In July, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) enacted a new rule eliminating mandatory arbitration clauses in certain financial contracts. Henceforth, companies can offer arbitration in contracts, but must notify consumers that class action lawsuits are allowed.
