Does a target of an investigation have the right to smear a witness who might or who did testify against him, and then claim he has free speech right to so engage?  Does he have the right to threaten removal from employment or position to limit any future witness from providing testimony when subpoenaed by Congress?

Trump tweeted this weekend slamming Jennifer Williams,  calling her a Never Trumper.   Williams testifies today. So the most powerful man in the world claims he has the right to tweet and disparage to tens of millions of people, intimidating that or any future witness who is compelled to testify against him?   He is asserting that anybody who agrees to a subpoena should now be labelled “Never Trumpers” without providing one iota bit of evidence.

punch holiday 2019 2

It's time to talk Turkey.

With Thanksgiving now roughly ten days away, it is almost winter holiday-time when we spend quality moments with our friends, relatives and loved-ones.  And to prepare everyone with the right spirit, on Thursday November 21, we're serving up some of the most recognized political-turkey-talk with punch.

facts dont matter 6

I am convinced. It is a fact. For those who I call ardent pro-Trumpers, the national GOP and the Republican Congress, facts don't matter in the Donald Trump impeachment probe.  It is all about politics.

No matter what the House of Representatives do, no matter what evidence has been or will be uncovered, the probe is not about facts. It is about emotions and partisanship.

The inquiry is not for truth. Truth is irrelevant.

This does not mean that I believe that the Democrats have proven their case. However, I do believe they could and would if Donald Trump allowed the witnesses to testify and the documents to be released.

But, that won't happen. Regardless how we have heard the Fox News bunch call for transparency for the FISA probe, let all the facts come out, that type of talk is all talk when push comes to shove and the probe is on their own.

The Trump impeachment inquiry day one is now history. The hysteria mounts. Tomorrow, part two.

This week, I posted the below items on my Facebook page. The first written Tuesday deals with what I consider to be the real evidence developing in the proceedings that could possibly result in impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, although, obviously, bets are off when it goes to the US Senate. The second post was written minutes after the first impeachment hearing yesterday.

Are you serious?

That’s how I felt when I saw Donald Trump’s commercial as he screamed to his rally crowd that Louisiana must reject current Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.

Bad enough that Louisiana Republicans have to import a national figure into the state to tell us whom should be our governor.  But if they are going to do so, please bring in someone with real credibility than bringing in a clown who is always tripping over his falsehoods.

How indecent can one man and his royal pretender be?

President Donald Trump and US Senator Rand Paul want to out a whistleblower who launched the Ukraine controversy that has morphed into an impeachment inquiry. Both men, including their right-wing media dogs are yapping loudly and coarsely about how the whistleblower is anti-Trump, therefore, the entire impeachment proceeding must be fatally tainted.   They claim that not only must the government watchdog’s identity be revealed but he must face the public crucible.

election rispone edwards stretch

According to a Louisiana survey just released Wednesday afternoon, incumbent John Bel Edwards has 50.3% of the vote with Republican political neophyte trailing closely at 46.6 percent with 3.1 percent undecided. In the same poll, 41% of the voters favor impeachment of President Donald Trump while 66 percent oppose.  The survey was conducted by former University of New Orleans Professor of Political Science, Ed Chervenak.

There he goes again.

Rudy Giuliani, who has turned into a gusher of embarrassment for lawyers, the City of New York and sometimes for his client, Donald Trump, has been known to say things that often-run counter to the Trump narrative.

He’s done it again.  This, time, borrowing once again some Watergate parlance, outed by the "smoking tweet".

trump lies edwards 5

Will someone tell President Donald Trump to stop lying about John Bel Edwards and the Louisiana budget.

We watch Trump on TV. We hear him on the radio. He rants that John Bel Edwards broke his “sacred promise” to people of the State of Louisiana and raised taxes.

What he fails to say in the commercial are the words, Bobby Jindal.

outside politics

My my!  How things have changed.

It goes without saying that Eddie Rispone is in a surprise runoff with incumbent Democrat, John Bel Edwards for Louisiana Governor. Somehow, a very rich, but politically unknown, Rispone morphed into Donald Trump.  He, wore Trump  around his neck. He  covered himself with Trump cologne and met him at the alter last week along with fellow gubernatorial candidate and ardent Trump name-dropper, Congressman Ralph Abraham.

The groundswell of Republican support for President Donald Trump is simply amazing. It seems to me that not only would Trump survive culpability if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue, but his loyalists “see-no-evil-anywhere” would insulate him even if he downed someone on Broadway, too.

Some call the passion and never-dying support for Trump by his ardents as a cult. Others simply point to his ability to feed the red meat needed to satisfy the angry right wing who has roamed the political wilderness, seemingly forever, without a leader. But, he’s now here and Trump is to be protected at all costs.  In fact, religious activist Ralph Reed claims that evangelicals have a moral duty to support Donald Trump.  Yep. A Moral duty.
