If the name Steve Scaffidi doesn’t ring a bell, just picture the old silent movie clip of the bulldog who grabs the pants leg of a bank robber and won’t let go until the police arrive. That isn’t too far off the New Orleans filmmaker’s goal, which is to grab the pants leg of Roger Goodell and hold on until the whole story behind the infamous no-call that may have cost the Saints a Super Bowl championship is told. And Scaffidi wants to tell it.

Only New Orleans can turn abject disappointment into a party.
Of course, just about anything that happens in New Orleans is reason enough for a party. Even deaths are celebrated by jazz funerals in which the sorrow of passing is replaced by a celebration of a life well lived. And that’s what happened Sunday when thousands of fans turned off their televisions and descended downtown to protest the game they should have been in. The impromptu Blackout and Gold parade marchers second-lined at Jackson Square, down Canal and Poydras streets and gathered at Fulton Street in a massive display of anger. And the world noticed, especially after a relatively dull Super Bowl that featured the least points and the most punts in the game’s 53-year history.
Jerry Jones’ first commissioner sabotage was Jim Finks
The NFL’s death spiral has turned inward. After the League has endured external disruptions over National Anthem protests, lower TV ratings, unhappy sponsors, lower attendance and concerns about whether the game is unsafe, Dallas owner Jerry Jones is leading an insurgency from within. Jones’ stated purpose is to stop a lucrative contract extension for Commissioner Roger Goodell that in reality would result in Goodell’s ouster.
The New Orleans Saints have a wonderful 50-year relationship with long-suffering fans that have supported the team through mostly losing seasons. Unfortunately, the team is putting that relationship in jeopardy with their asinine position on the National Anthem controversy.
For some unknown reason, the Saints have decided to support the right of disgruntled players to kneel or sit either before or during the playing of the National Anthem. In week 3, it was ten players who sat and since that time multiple players have been kneeling before the National Anthem is played and then standing for the Star-Spangled Banner.
It has been a great postseason for Major League Baseball (MLB). The World Series will feature one of the league’s premier teams facing off against a perennial underdog from one of the nation’s largest TV markets. Ratings are up substantially this year for baseball, in fact, MLB attracted the most postseason viewers since 2011. The final game of the Astros-Yankees series drew 9.9 million viewers, the largest audience in the history of Fox Sports 1 network.
Is Donald going dotard or self-destructive?
Donald Trump against the nutty dictators, John McCain and the world has now become Donald Trump vs. nutty dictators, John McCain, the world plus now--the NFL and the NBA along, of course, with Hollywood?.
